Are the AT Mentors qualified?

Our AT Mentors are experienced AT users with a Certificate IV in AT Mentoring and understanding of the NDIS. They use their lived experience of disability, and knowledge to research, compare, and help you choose low risk AT equipment or technology options up to the value of $15,000 that will best suit your needs. They will then provide advice or letters of recommendation to purchase your chosen AT using your NDIS funds.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. We accept AT Mentor requests from individuals, their carers or family, or assisting organisations. All you need to do is complete the AT Mentor Booking Request Form and then we will be in contact to discuss your request further.

What is the process to access an AT Mentor?

We think that the process is very simple - infact, just 6 steps. Take a look at the The 6 Easy Steps page that explains just how easy it is to gain access to your AT Mentor.

Is AT Mentoring the right service for me?

When we receive an AT Mentor Request, we review the information provided and contact you to discuss your request and what the next steps will be.

If the request is suitable and the AT Mentoring service is right for the applicant, we provide an AT Mentoring Service Quote, a Terms of Service, and a Service Agreement with an overview of the services that will be delivered and an estimated cost for the service. If you are happy with the information you receive, we can start your journey together.

What does AT Mentoring cost?

AT Mentoring service activities are charged at $101.42 per hour. We require participants to enter into a Service Agreement where a minimum of 5 (five) hours of service delivery is agreed upon by both parties, but you will only be invoiced for the hours used. (NB. This can be significantly less that the 5 hours.)

NDIS Participants can request and fund our AT Mentor service with their NDIS Plan Capacity Building Budget using the line item 'Assistive Technology Mentoring' #15-300-0103-1-3.

If additional hours over the 5-hour minimum were required, this would be discussed and agreed upon before a new Service Agreement is issued prior to any further service delivery.

Why do you need my personal information?

We respect your privacy and take all reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure and private.

We collect some personal, health, and sensitive information about you so that we can identify our service users and check that you are eligible to receive services, and also to understand your support needs.

We only keep the information that we need to provide you with services, and when we ask for your personal information, we will tell you why we need it. Please visit our organisation website to view the full Privacy Policy.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please call our organisation on phone us at iLA on (08) 6202 4728 and a team member will be able to help you. If you wish to cancel your appointment, you are required to give at least 2 business days’ notice before your appointment. If you wish to stop receiving AT Mentoring services, you must provide 2 weeks’ notice to cancel your service agreement.

What's the difference between an AT Mentor, an AT Advisor, and an AT assessor?

Our AT Mentors have a Certificate IV in AT Mentoring.

AT advisors may be an allied health practitioner, continence nurses, rehabilitation engineers, or AT Mentors.

AT Assessors must have a university or equivalent degree relevant for providing AT assessments and belong to a professional registration organisation such as the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
