Sam Rowe uses the following tools and techniques to help her with sensory regulation and calming:

  • Light: sunglasses and hats
  • Sound: Bose Quiet Comfort 45 Noise cancelling headphones & Flare calmer nights earplugs, listen to music
  • Touch:
    • Fidgets: hair coils, tangles, stress ball, massage ball, fidget ring
    • Clothing: natural fibre clothing
    • Temperature: wheat heat packs and ice
  • Taste: Warheads – Extreme sour lollies, lemon
  • Smell: lavender essential oil, vicks inhaler
  • Communication: Auslan, and notepad app
  • Cognitive: Game apps – solitaire, sudoku, merge games, colouring-in
