AT for Me

AT for Me is about finding the right assistive technology (AT) support to help you to live, work and play. Everyone’s needs are different, so AT Chat offers a variety of supports so you can choose what fits you best: 

  • AT Mentor – Our AT Mentors are experienced AT users with a Certificate IV in AT Mentoring and understanding of the NDIS. They can give in-depth support and help you make an informed decision about what AT products will work best for you and your goals.
  • Chatterbox – An online community where AT users share stories, ask questions, and give advice about AT. This private Facebook group is for AT users only and is a safe and friendly space to learn from others and swap tips for living, working, and playing with AT. 
  • MyATOF – A tool developed outside of AT Chat to help you track how well your AT is working and the difference it makes to your life.

AT Chat Peer-Led Supports Timeline

  • Early 2020 – AT Navigator pilot begins 
    AT Chat ran its first AT Navigation Program Pilot, also known earlier as the AT Chat Peer Mentoring Program. This was developed using co-design methods with AT users (“Living Labs”) and launched as a nationwide pilot in early 2020.  
  • After pilot – AT Navigator becomes a formal service 
    Following positive evaluation results from the pilot, AT Chat introduced the AT Navigator role as a formal peer-support service. AT Navigators are trained, experienced AT users who help others navigate AT options via the Connect-Create-Control model.  
  • Later – AT Mentor service is built on AT Navigator 
    Using the AT Navigator as a foundation, AT Chat expanded peer support into a more in-depth offering with AT Mentor.  
  • Now 
    The AT Mentor service is currently on hold, so watch this space for more developments in 2026.
