Layne Dixon's AT for Storytelling

Layne Dixon is a writer for access, disability and inclusion. They've just started back writing on their blog, where they discuss their experiences as a disabled and queer person, as well as put their own life experience and views on important issues within the disability community today. Layne has volunteered for many start-up companies including Disability Justice Collective and is a part of the Empower Real Storytellers Festival.

"As a disabled person, I heavily rely on technology such as AI to complete the work I do. Some of my go-to resources are Speechify and Grammarly to improve my work as an activist in the youth, queer and disability spaces that I'm involved in today."

 

The importance of storytelling

"As someone who is heavily into writing and supporting the arts, I do believe storytelling is necessary more than ever. With technology and the term "AI" constantly involved I do strongly believe storytelling is a way and will always be a method to connect an author with their audience."

"As an activist, the art of storytelling has given me and so many people I know the opportunity to share their stories with a wider audience; whether this is on stage or online."
