Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our AT for Me service.

General FAQs

  • What is AT for Me?

AT for Me is a collection of peer-led services to help you find and use the right assistive technology (AT) to help you live, work, and play.

  • What services are part of AT for Me?

AT for Me includes AT Navigators, AT Mentors, AT Chatterbox, and MyATOF (an AT Outcomes Tool).

  • How do I know which service is right for me?

It depends on your goals. If you want ideas and options, try AT Navigator. If you need in-depth support or written reports for funding, AT Mentor may be better. If you want community connection and tips, join AT Chatterbox. If you want to document your AT use MyATOF.

  • Is AT for Me a replacement for health professionals?

No. AT for Me is peer-led. AT Navigators and AT Mentors are trained AT users, not clinicians. They share lived experience and options, and can connect you with health professionals if needed.

  • How do I access AT for Me services?

You can make an enquiry via the website, email, or phone.

  • What does “Connect, Create, Control,” mean?

This is AT Chat’s peer support model:

    • Connect – talk about your goals
    • Create – explore what is and isn’t working
    • Control – review options and take next steps
