Child Safe Statement

iLA's Commitment to Child Safety

We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all children and young people who engage with our services.

Where our work involves direct contact with children, we take active steps to support their safety and wellbeing. This includes implementing child safe practices consistent with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and complying with all relevant Commonwealth, State and Territory child safety laws, including Working With Children Checks and mandatory reporting requirements.

Our approach to child safety includes:

  • Screening and suitability checks for staff and volunteers who work with children
  • Clear expectations for behaviour and professional boundaries
  • Child safety training and guidance for relevant personnel
  • Ongoing assessment and management of child safety risks
  • Processes for raising, responding to, and reporting child safety concerns

We regularly review our child safety practices to support continuous improvement and to ensure they remain appropriate to the nature of our work.

If you have concerns about the safety or well-being of a child in connection with our services, please contact us at: quality@ilaustralia.org.au
